In 1976, a group of yachtsmen conceived the idea of the CAPTAINS & MATES YACHT CLUB, and gave considerable time, effort and guidance to install a foundation of lasting significance. Their primary intent and purpose was to encourage, within a social organization, the sport of yachting and all social activities associated therewith…the main objective being to foster a warm, friendly atmosphere with activities related to cruising and shore activities suited to its general membership. To this end, we have certainly upheld the anticipations of the founding fathers…and we have taken it a step further…the result being an organization devoted to HAVING FUN TOGETHER: YACHT CLUB PLEASURE BOATING WITHOUT ALL THE POLITICS!
We sponsor “Safe Boating” and we share cruising experiences and tips, nautical knowledge…and dining and dancing interests at formal, as well as casual affairs, during the year. We have the comfort, if we wish, of cruising with a group of boats, and we relish welcoming new members and making new friends.
C&MYC is a Corinthian Club, and its red, white and blue pennant, displaying the “C” and “M” initials, flies in many ports in the Tri-State area. We are an Equal Opportunity Boating Organization, and our applicant policy provides equal membership privileges for both men and women, including the right to vote and hold office.
May we encourage you to join us at one of our meetings or functions…or spend a rendezvous with us…and see for yourself: “WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT!”
New members must enjoy boating, sailing and cruising. The club arranges 3 rendezvous a year plus other social functions.
Membership dues are $275 per year (and a one time initiation fee of $100) the average rendezvous costs $275 for the weekend which includes a dine around on Friday night or a barbecue, games and sightseeing on Saturday, dinner/dance on Saturday night and a sail away breakfast on Sunday. Interested boaters should contact us!

CAMYC is a totally voluntary organization. We rely on active club members to contribute to the smooth functioning of the club. We encourage you to volunteer your talents and skills to make the club a better place for every member. Please don’t sit back and let everyone else do the work. It is fun to get involved and contribute to the planning/organizational activities.
